I can't believe Braylon is a month old already. Time truly flies.

I wanted to share the photos from his newborn session--better late than never! I took these when he was 1 week old, I seriously can't believe how much he has grown and changed in the last few weeks! While I can't freeze time, I will always have these photos to document how small and sweet he was (and still is!), and that is almost just as good!

I love newborn sessions, but this one was oh-so-special for obvious reasons. I mean who doesn't love a new baby...especially when that baby is yours! I wish I was joking when I tell you I had tears streaming down my face when I was taking these photos LOL. I'm not even going to blame the hormones--I just love him that much, he's the sweetest!

In terms of my photography goals with this session, I wanted to be sure to get some macro shots of all the individual features--the small button nose and pouty lips. It's all in the details in my opinion! I think these types of shots really make a statement and personally love the features edited to black and white.

And of course I was hoping Braylon would cooperate and allow me to get some posed newborn shots. He did great and I’m so thrilled with the resulting images—I just love the angelic peacefulness captured during newborn sessions!

For newborn photography sessions like this, it’s best to have a sleepy baby (which I’m aware is easier said than done). But posing a sleepy baby is when the real magic happens! Next week on the blog I will share my tips for how clients should prep for a newborn session to help make sure their baby is comfortable and sleepy for posing. Be sure to check back if you're interested! As always, thanks for reading!
